Hai Ha Nguyen

Bartender

Hailing from Hanoi, Vietnam, Hai Ha dreamed from a young age of working in the hotel industry. At age 16 on a family holiday in Thailand, he watched the bartenders making drinks, talking to guests, and making them happy. Hai Ha immediately sensed that this was his calling. A career in hospitality appealed to his dedication to professionalism and desire to engage with customers, hearing their stories. After starting at the Korean branded Lotte Hotel in Hanoi, where he worked in human resources, Hai Ha was sure he belonged on the frontline, and came to Australia for his final university year industry placement to work at The Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains of NSW.

Four Seasons Hotel Sydney beckoned and since then Hai Ha has found his true calling at Grain Bar, where his creativity has been welcomed. Understanding what makes classic cocktails and giving vent to his imagination, resulting in new liquid inventions that convey the essence of his heritage. Hai Ha has also been working at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney’s acclaimed restaurant Mode Kitchen & Bar, and his influence is pervasive across the hotel’s food and beverage spaces.
