Exactly one hundred years ago the legendary Count Camillo Negroni dictated his cocktail recipe: a third of vermouth, a third of gin and a third of bitters and with a light stir (and a sip) the Negroni was born!
To celebrate this incredible milestone our creative bartenders in Grain Bar could not wait to jump on board this exciting Campari campaign and craft their own unique take on the classic.
“Here at Grain Bar we’re all about craftsmanship and creating. We had a lot of fun injecting some pizazz, alongside our own flair and style to one of the world’s most iconic classic cocktails – The Negroni. In celebration of Negroni’s centenary celebration, we’ve brought to life five unique Negroni’s each with a flair of their own. My personal favourite has to be the Luisita, created with Campari, Vida Mezcal, Lillet Blanc and St George Raspberry Liquer – think smokey and chocolate elements that combine with a complexity of flavours that release and intensify as you enjoy the drink” – Cedric Mendoza, Head Bartender
But what makes this centenary celebration even more special is that during Negroni Week Grain Bar will donate $1 from every Negroni sold from 24th to 30th June to Oz Harvest, Australia’s leading food rescue charity.
